Listing Dogs. These dogs are dogs
that we post as a courtesy to people that contact us. We have
not seen these dogs and have not done behavior or temperment
evaluations on them. For qustions please refer to the contact
listed with each dog and not SCRR. Thank you. Some people may still want you to fill out this Online Adoption Application
*If you have a dog posted on our site, you must contact us by the 5th of each month if you want them to stay posted for another month. If we do not hear from you they will be taken down on the 10th. This is the only way we can manage the dogs since we have to call to verify who is adopted and not each month. Few people ever call to let us know when there dogs get adopted and we are an all volunteer rescue and too much time is spent trying to keep the courtesy listings up to date. We are trying to keep this a free and donation based service to the public. Thank you for your understanding.
Rocco 4 year old Male
Rocco is neutered and is a fun loving dog who acts more like a puppy than a four year old dog. He has some interest in ball chasing but tends to lose interest quickly. He also likes a rousing game of "keep away" but comes to you once you sit down and he knows the game is over. Rocco seems to like other dogs and tried to initiate play with a dog he met here. He was polite with two others.

Dutch 3 year old Male
Dutch is a longhaired, nub-tailed Rottie.
Dutch has a delightful, easy-going way about him. He is gentle and
people-focused; though he gets along well with other dogs.
Dutch was surrendered by his owner to the San Luis Obispo County Animal
Shelter (aka "the pound") because the owner had to move and could only
take one of his rotties. The owner says that Dutch likes to play with
kids and be with all people. He also said Dutch is quiet and knows
"sit," "stay" and "down." To his credit, the owner did take good care
of his dogs and Dutch has had a hip replacement and now moves very
well.
The SLO County shelter is not a no-kill shelter. We are now heading
into our worst time of year for overcrowding. Because Dutch is a big
boy it reduces the likelihood of an adoption and puts him at a higher
risk of being put to sleep as the shelter becomes overcrowded.
If you are interested in Dutch, please contact Ellen by e-mail or phone
esperryess@earthlink.net or 805-550-7577.

Bear 3 year old Male
Bear is a spayed male rottweiler/hound mix. He has his natural tail. He is neutered and about 90 pounds. He's super friendly, eager to please, crate trained, housebroken and good with other dogs (including our Chihuahua/Jack Russell). He would be good with older kids or adults, he's just too energetic (likes to jump) for small children. He has been an outside dog mostly, but needs a home where he can come inside as well. I think he would do best in a home where there is at least one other dog since right now he has a friend and that is all he has known. He gets along with cats, however, he likes to try and play with them and they seem to not like it as much. Unfortunately we have to move and they only allow small dogs. He loves to play and run. I want to make sure he will go to a home where he will be loved and played with everyday. We are going to be very sad to see him go. Rocky 4 year old Male
Rocky is a playful and extremely loving 4 year old. He loves playing with toys, and has a big collection of them, but is always careful not to break them. Rocky is a part of a loving family that is emigrating and unfortunately cannot bring him with. He does not like young kids as they are too noisy and hyper for him. He grew up in a home with teenagers and two little dogs. He likes to play, growl and bark on occasion which some can take as aggression when he is just being playful. Rocky unfortunately has slight back leg problem in which his right leg is slightly bowed due to a slight deformity so he can not go for long walks. This can cause him to be in pain from time to time, and due to this he does not like anyone to touch his back legs. Despite this problem he is extremely loving and loves being part of a family. Like most rotties he is very protective of his family, and loves to cuddle and be with people. His vaccinations are up to date, is on heartworm preventative and takes fish oil every day for his coat.
